Competition Update 21/09/2023

Scorecast Round 4

Given that I, as an admin, am not eligible to win prizes, I must say I'm quite happy to be in 2nd place in both leagues. Or, at least, that's how I'm going to sell it having been knocked off the top of the Scorecast by Yin Mo.

Here's the full table:

Yin has just about ousted me from top spot after correctly predicting that Bayern would only beat Man Utd by a goal. Nobody got the 4-3 exactly right, nor the 4-0 for Arsenal over PSV. Kjetil Rykkje, Paul Durham and Jon Gretar Levi Jonsson all drop out of the top 10, making way for Tony Bosworth, Mal Peary and Jonathan Ireland. The latter two share the joint-second highest score of the round with 15 points, beaten only by Sean Rafferty who equals this season's top score so far, with 16.

... and I'm settling for 2nd place in the Tablecast as well, the highest I've been so far! Two points is the difference and that can be put down to the fact that Freddie Rouse, the new league leader after hovering around 3rd and 4th for the last few weeks, has one more bullseye than me.

Here's the Premier League table:

6 bullseyes is the max at this early stage, with Freddie and Dougie Gibson both achieving that total. Julie Roseblade, in 4th place, has the most scoring teams overall with 15 of the 20 teams being no more than 3 places away from where she's predicted they'll finish. Most people have 3 of the top 4 correct, then there's several 2s... with only Richard Rigg and Jon Gretar Levi Jonsson on 1 out of 4. The latter, though, also has 3 out of 3 relegated sides, matched only by yours truly in 2nd place.

Stephen Renforth has plummeted to 25th despite having been top the last 2 gameweeks in a row; biggest movers are Jim Mullen who climbs from 89th to 40th, and Thomas Schrouder who's fallen from 5th to 67th. Besides that, we're already starting to see considerably more consistency than last season with 35 of the 98 participants moving by no more than 10 positions.
