Scorecast and Tablecast 2023/24
Competition info:
TABLECAST (click to go there)
This competition only requires one submission, before 11th August at 8pm, when Burnley v Man City kicks off.
Predict the order that the 20 Premier League teams will finish. I will post the scoring system later, but the person with the most accurate table prediction come the end of the season will win a prize, also to be decided later.
SCORECAST (click to go there)
This competition consists of 24 rounds, each of which will ask you to predict the scores of eight selected games. There'll be a couple of reminders leading up to the Round 1 deadline, which is August 12th, 12:30pm. Anyone who's entered their scores by then will be registered for the competition. If you've not entered by then, we'll take you off the mailing list, but you're welcome to join at any time during the season if you change your mind.
There'll be at least one reminder for each Scorecast round, with 24 rounds this season instead of 20, some only a week apart. It'll get busier towards the end of the season. Apologies for the @everyone tags - I won't do loads like some groups do... but I wanna get as many entrants as possible this year. It's open to the public, too, so please do invite anyone you know who's a footy fan to sign up.
Cheers,
Rob

If somebody was to predict the table exactly, they'd score 126 points. Average score last year would've been 33 and the winner still would've been Tony Bosworth, with 55 points... however, interestingly, the table would change slightly under the new system. Top 10 would be:
Tiebreak = whomever has the fewest teams placed more than three away from their correct position ("surprises") - ie. teams who score no points.
Official Tablecast Scoring A correctly placed team (or "bullseye") = +5pts Correct champion = +5pts Correct top-4 finisher = +3pts Correct bottom-3 finisher = +3pts A team placed one away from their correct position = +3pts A team placed two away from their correct position = +2pts A team placed three away from their correct position = +1pt
