Scorecast and Tablecast update 03/04/2023

Evening folks - here's your report for Round 16 of the Scorecast, and Gameweek 28 of the Tablecast competitions.

I'll start with the latter - this could all change after Everton v Spurs tonight but, for now, it's just another stark reminder that I definitely need to change the scoring system next season...

Tablecast

Persistent challenger Yin Mo tops the table once again and, elsewhere, quite possibly the most ridiculous gameweek we've had so far, as far as people jumping about the table is concerned.

Neil Wilson, last round's leader, has fallen to an incredible 29th place; Ian Thirkeld drops 31 places to 37th, and Sandy Barber's dropped even further... from 3rd to 38th. In the top half, Chris Turner drops from 2nd to 16th while Kris Woods climbs from 26th to 2nd. Ben Hylands and Tony Bosworth have both risen from the 30s right into the top 10, and former league leader David Waters is rock-bottom. Robert Pentland, who was rock bottom last week, is now 11th. Totes cray-cray. Obviously Everton v Spurs is still to come... I haven't developed predictive code yet, though, so I'm not sure what'll happen to the Tablecast standings if Everton win and go 13th in the table. Hopefully, we'll find out soon. Whatever happens in that game, the PL table will change, which means this definitely will too. I won't be posting another report at that point, but the table will update within about 15 minutes at toontalk.uk/tablecast if anyone wants to check it later.

A bit of change near the top, this round; Robert Pentland may have risen 31 places in Tablecast but he's lost 2nd place to David Russell, albeit only on bullseyes. Stephen Hill has also climbed a place, while Neil Wilson, as if to make up for the Tablecast devastation, has replaced Henk Postma in the top 10. Significantly, league leader Rory Robertson has the joint-worst non-zero score in the league this round (joint with Rory Shoemaker and Sean Rafferty). Meanwhile David Waters is one of only two people to hit double figures with 10, the other being Martin Soulsby with an excellent 14 - the joint 5th highest score managed by anyone this season. Martin is the only person to go from the bottom half to the top half, this round...

Bottom half:

... and it's George Bland who's gone the other way after a mediocre 4 points. Pete Charnock is still the lowest scoring player to have played every round, but both he and Anj Luzanycia-Hird, who's also had that unfortunate honour in the past, have climbed the table. June Payne and Michael Waters continue to climb but 8 points each wasn't quite enough to get them into the top half this time around.

Round 17 deadline is an unusual one... it's in EIGHT days time, so that's Tuesday 11th April 2023, at 8pm UK time. Here's the link, disguised as a picture of me, Michael Waters, John Waters, and Nobby Solano:
