Scorecast Round 12 & Tablecast Update 20/02/2023

Well... the time is upon us... the current round of the Scorecast (which you can enter by CLICKING HERE) contains Newcastle's first major competition final since 1999. Wembley. Silverware. These words feel like strangers, having been out of our collective vocabulary for almost a quarter of a century. But we're going... and we're gonna win... right? Just remember, if you predict a Man Utd win, and you get a bullseye, then it's totally your fault that we're not League Cup champions.

Anyway, here's the Scorecast table after Round 12:

Davids Russell and Miller retain the top two spots, but it's all change just below them. Rick Pike, this round's top scorer by a clear 3 points with 11, has climbed from 17th to 5th and has bumped John Strafford out of the top 10, after he and almost everyone else had dismal rounds. Honourable mentions to Joseph Askew (8) and Jordan McKeown (7) who each climb a few places. There are now only 7 points between 2nd and 18th, meaning anyone could have a round like Rick has had and suddenly be amongst it. With a not-horrendous score of 6, though, David Miller extends his lead at the top to 9 points, making him increasingly less likely to be caught.

As for the Tablecast, people's changes in position become ever more erratic, with Brendan Allan having dropped from 2nd to 42nd, and then back up to 5th again. Amazing! Roy Parkinson tops the table for what I believe is the first time this season, and I'm in the top half for what seems like the first time in ages. Conversely, it's Colin Wesbroom who props everyone else up. With all the changes in position for several teams, Yin Mo has gone from having 5 bullseyes last week, to only 1 this week. Scorecast worldie Rick Pike has had a very different Tablecast experience, dropping from 7th to 29th.

... and here's the comparison of top vs bottom. Interestingly, Roy and Colin have the same top 10, though only Newcastle and West Ham in the same positions among them. They also have the same three relegated sides, albeit in a different order, with none of them at all actually being in the bottom 3. It's the remaining teams between 11th and 17th that have paid dividends for Roy, with three bullseyes from those 7 positions, and none for Colin

Let's hope Newcastle are back to screwing with everyone's predictions and snugly back in 4th (or above) in a couple of weeks' time!
