Scorecast & Tablecast 20/09/2022

Updated: Jan 3, 2023

Just one look at the league table, in which Newcastle are top half having only won one game, tells you it's going to be an odd season to say the least...

But what does that do for our competitors in the Tablecast competition? Well... somehow... Kay Waters is TOP OF THE LEAGUE... meanwhile my other half is ROCK BOTTOM OF THE LEAGUE! Here's how they measure up:

ree

3 current bullseyes for the matriarch of the Waters family... interestingly they've both got us finishing 2 places above Man Utd in 6th... I'm sure we'd all take that!

What about the rest of you, though?

Well... I did warn Sarah not to just copy Dad... and to be fair, she didn't, it's just a coincidence that his start to the season has been woeful too. Just for the sake of showing him up a bit... here's John Waters' picks, currently earning him 2 points, and only above Sarah because he's got struggling Nottingham Forest in the bottom 3.

ree

Of course, it could all change between now and the end of the season... let's be honest, it could've all changed by the first game after the international break as we saw Brendan Allan top the league early on, and he's now sitting bang on mid-table!

What do we think is going to happen, though? Will Brighton fly high all season or will they drop off? Will West Ham, who had a cracking time last year, remain in the bottom 3 or thereabouts? Will Newcastle break the top 6? Only time will tell!

As for the Scorecast, it's a bit of a truncated round as certain matches were postponed on account of the country paying its respects to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II - Brighton v Palace, Man Utd v Leeds, and Chelsea v Liverpool will all be rescheduled and their scores will be added when that happens.

What this means, is that there were only five scoring matches in this gameweek, meaning the maximum possible score is only 15. Of course... nobody got anywhere near that.

The full table is available by CLICKING HERE but, for the time being, here's the top 10. David Miller and Michael Hannard hold on to the top 2 spots for now, with scores of 5 each for the round. Top scorer was Colin French, who nudges Stephen Wallace out of third place. Again, Kay Waters is suddenly flying high after her 6 points rocket her into the top 6.

The rest of the top 10 have all climbed this week, to get there, with Jordan McKeown, Roy Parkinson, Craig Lister, Pete Charnock, Mark Habbishaw, and Anj Luzanycia-Hird all dropping out.

Still, plenty of rounds to go, including Round 5 which is now open!
