Scorecast & Tablecast 30/10/2022

Updated: Jan 3, 2023

Another round of fixtures down and another competition report. There's still Arsenal v Forest and Man Utd v West Ham to come later today but here's how the league table looks, presently:

Tablecast

Barring another surprise from Forest, it's probably only a short-lived lead for Man City, though they're by far the most backed team in the Tablecast so I dare say that the competition will look very different after this afternoon's fixtures. Here's the Tablecast standings as of 11:15am:

Bit of a disaster for Sara Hawthorn who's dropped from 16th all the way to the bottom - 26 places! Stevie Spowart drops 27 places and Anj Luzanycia-Hird is down 28... oh dear! Meanwhile our biggest climber is Matthew Pike who's rocketed 30 places up to the lofty heights of 4th position. Pete Charnock (+26) and Robert Pentland (+23) with similarly good performances, and congratulations to David Waters who's back to the top of the table. Here's the top vs bottom comparison. Who'd have thought that 6th and 8th respectively would be a pessimistic prediction for the Toon?!

Don't forget, all of the above tables are updated regularly and can all be found at toontalk.uk/tablecast so make sure you check the out after today's game too, to see the difference! I've reset all the league positions so you'll be able to see what the changes are between now and the end of the day.

Scorecast

In the Scorecast, we have a clear MVP in Henk Postma who's amassed 14 points including bullseyes for Brentford v Wolves and Preston v Middlesbrough, and correctly guessing that Fulham v Everton and Luton v Sunderland would end in draws. Here's the table...

Seven no-shows amongst the zeroes this round; besides them, though, a poor week for Ben Hylands, David Osguthorpe, Ian Thirkeld, Rory Shoemaker, and Stephen Wallace (2). The top 7 have stayed in the top 7 but shuffled around a bit; John Strafford's second-top score of 12 sees him give them something to think about too, as he climbs into 8th on the same points as Rory Robertson. Honourable mentions to John Thompson, Dougie Gibson, Lee Miller, David Waters (good week for him), George Bland for all getting 10 points, and also to Adam Bland for being the only person to correctly predict 4-0 against Villa. Incidentally, I was the only person to predict that Brighton would beat Chelsea, though only by the odd goal in a 2-1. Most predictable result was Luton v Sunderland - 10 of you predicted that'd finish 1-1!

Once again, don't forget you can always see the league table at toontalk.uk/scorecast which is also where you can go now, to enter your scores for Round 8.

Please note as well, Round 8 is the last round before the World Cup, during which Scorecast (and Tablecast) will be on hiatus. Deadline is early too, Friday 11th November at 8pm, and then Round 9 will be for the return of the Premier League on Boxing Day.

That's all for now. Click below to go enter your scores for Round 9 :)
